Welcome to the MAGAN Web Site
MAGAN is a 1983 J/30 with the traditional layout (Hull #389). We purchased her in the summer of 2011 down in City Island, NY where it was obvious that she had been put out to pasture. She had quite the racing life in her early years down on the western end of the sound where she was better known as CAVEMAN. It is our every intention to bring her back to her previous glory days and eventually a shot at re-capturing the J/30 National title she won back in 2002.
MAGAN is based out of the Branford Yacht Club, in Connecticut, but her playground is most of Long Island Sound, the North Fork of Long Island as well as Block Island Sound. You will most likely see us poking around major regattas as far North as Marblehead, MA all the way South to Manhasset Bay, NY.
We hope that this site will allow our family, friends, and crew to help keep tabs on our adventures. We encourage our TEAM and those interested in crewing, to keep current with all race and social events through this web site. To register as crew for an upcoming race, go to the Schedule page, open the event, and click "join the crew".
